Useful tips for trekking in the region
The ideal time to go for Everest base camp trekking is from March to May and from September to December due to the unfavorable climatic conditions during other times of the year. However, it is not uncommon to find a good number of trekkers managing their ways up even under such extremes.
Since some lone trekkers had disappeared in the past, the Nepal Government has mandated hiring a local guide for the trip from 2014. The costs are not so high for a local guide though.
